The zigzag geology in the cliffs at Millook (that attracts visits by university-organised parties of geology students) can be seen at the base of the nearer cliffs in this picture.
For other visitors, it is the stunning scenery of this section of National Cycle Network route 3 that amazes. For cyclists, this scene is a chance to pause for breath on a slightly less steep slope while tackling the long and, at one point 30%, climb up going south.
There is also a wonderful view looking north over Widemouth Bay from the Penhalt Cliff viewpoint at the very highest point in the above picture. However, cyclists coming from the south will find no gentle resting slope on the way up; the climb up from the stream crossing at Millook has no respite!
